Nancy

Nancy Lou is a graduate of the Shanghai Dance School and began her professional career with the Shanghai Ballet Company. She later received a full scholarship to the Kirov Ballet Academy in Washington, D.C., where she completed intensive training in the Vaganova method.

 

In 2014, Nancy co-founded N&D Ballet with her husband and has since served as the school’s Principal and lead Choreographer. Over the past decade, she has led N&D Ballet to become a leading institution in Chinese-American dance education. Her students have earned top placements at international competitions such as YAGP and UBC. In 2025, the school ranked third globally in the number of solo finalists at the YAGP Finals and was named “Outstanding School” at the YAGP Massachusetts regional for four consecutive years.

 

As a choreographer, Nancy has created numerous acclaimed works for the school, including original full-length ballets My Ballet Dream and Butterfly Lovers. Her choreographic and coaching works have received Top 3 and Top 12 placements at the YAGP.

 

Nancy continues to lead with professionalism, creativity, and a deep passion for cultivating technically strong and artistically expressive dancers.
