Maria Baranova.Former Finnish National Ballet principal dancer, Boston Ballet soloist 
Born in Lohja (Finland), entered the Helsinki Dance Institute in 1999. Having finished nine years at the Helsinki Dance Institute, took part in a young dancers’ competition Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, after which received an invitation from John Neumeier to join the graduating year of the Hamburg Ballet School with a scholarship, where graduated with the leading role in the ballet "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" (John Neumeier). After winning the 1st prize at the International Ballet Competition in Helsinki 2009 later the same year got accepted to the company at age of 16. From 2009 - 2011 was a member of the Hamburg Ballet.
In March 2011 won the International Competition for the Erik Bruhn Prize in Toronto, in Canada with "Giselle" ballet's pas de deux from 2nd act and "Chopin Dialogues" created specifically for the competition by John Neumeier. 
In October 2011 was invited to work as a prima ballerina at the Finnish National Ballet by the artistic director Kenneth Greve. Since the beginning of November 2011, has been engaged as a prima ballerina with the Finnish National Ballet.
