Lena Quevedo

Lena Quevedo is a classically trained ballet teacher, former professional ballet dancer, and choreographer with over 20 years of experience in performance, dance education, and artistic development. She completed her professional ballet training at Cuba’s prestigious National School of Arts (ENA) and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Arts with a specialization in Classical Ballet from the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA) in Havana, Cuba. Throughout her training and professional career, Lena studied and worked with internationally respected ballet teachers, répétiteurs, choreographers, and artistic directors, including Fernando Alonso, Laura Alonso, Josefina Méndez, Aurora Bosch, Frank Andersen, and Lázaro Carreño.

As a professional dancer, Lena performed with ProDanza Ballet Company in Cuba from 2005 to 2012, where she was promoted to First Level Corps de Ballet and performed a wide range of principal, soloist, and corps de ballet roles in classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire. She later joined the National Ballet of Ecuador as a soloist, performing leading roles in productions including Sleeping Beauty, Paquita, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake.

As an educator and artistic director, Lena has taught students from beginner through pre-professional levels in classical ballet, pointe and pre-pointe preparation, ballet repertoire, variation coaching, contemporary dance, and dance conditioning. She has also developed ballet curricula, choreographed original productions, coached students for performances and ballet competitions, and provided individualized private coaching. Her teaching reflects the discipline and technical foundation of the Cuban Ballet School while emphasizing artistry, musicality, strength, and confidence in each dancer.
